ELECTRICAL

Whether you’re considering a new kitchen or bathroom, fancy upgrading your sockets and switches to a decorative finish, need a full rewire, a new extractor fan for the en-suite or just an extra socket in the kitchen, please get in touch for a free, no obligation quotation. No job is too large or too small.

Did you know……any works in a bathroom, or installation of a new circuit anywhere in a domestic property must be certified under Part P Building Regulations? We are Part P registered, so you can be confident your work is insured with us.

We also install outdoor power including electric car charging points, garden lighting and more. Please click here to contact us for your next project.

Inspection & Testing

Poorly installed electrical wiring can be dangerous and, in some cases, lead to fires.

As NICEIC Approved Contractors, we can carry out an Electrical Condition Report on any type of domestic or commercial property, to ensure your fixed wiring is safe and compliant with the latest regulations.

We also offer Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and certification for any item of electrical equipment which can be plugged into a normal 13A socket.

Did you know…. under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, landlords of privately rented accommodation must:

  • Ensure national standards for electrical safety are met. These are set out in the 18th edition of the ‘Wiring Regulations’, which are published as British Standard 7671.
  • Ensure the electrical installations in their rented properties are inspected and tested by a qualified and competent person at least every 5 years.
  • Obtain a report from the person conducting the inspection and test which gives the results and sets a date for the next inspection and test.
  • Supply a copy of this report to the existing tenant within 28 days of the inspection and test.
  • Supply a copy of this report to a new tenant before they occupy the premises, or to any prospective tenant within 28 days of receiving a request for the report.
  • Supply the local authority with a copy of this report within 7 days of receiving a request for a copy.
  • Retain a copy of the report to give to the inspector and tester who will undertake the next inspection and test.
  • Where the report shows that remedial or further investigative work is necessary, complete this work within 28 days or any shorter period if specified as necessary in the report.
  • Supply written confirmation of the completion of the remedial works from the electrician to the tenant and the local authority within 28 days of completion of the works.

The regulations came into force on 1 June 2020, they apply to new tenancies from 1 July 2020 and existing tenancies from 1 April 2021.

We are enrolled on the NICEIC Private Rented Sector register, so are able to undertake all these works on your behalf.

In addition to testing, we can provide a full complement of electrical services to commercial premises, from small power to general and emergency lighting and beyond. Recent installations have included floor boxes and desk power modules, bringing power and data to the precise point of use and eliminating the need for unsightly and potentially hazardous extension cables and leads.

We also install electric heating, induction loop and accessible toilet alarm systems.

We have completed projects in a variety of settings, from churches, pubs and bars to police stations, government buildings, purpose-built office blocks and shopping centres.

Whether it’s a 3-phase supply for a roller shutter door, warehouse lighting installation, plant room power, distribution and containment or supplies and isolators for mechanical equipment, talk to us about your electrical requirements.

Our electricians are qualified in working at height, including the use of cherry pickers and mobile towers, so access is not an issue. We are CHAS registered and issue RAMS for all our projects.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

Our FIA (Fire Industry Association) qualified staff can design, install and commission a fire alarm and detection system that is compliant with current British Standards and suitable for any type of property:

Conventional systems are designed to be used by small business premises or Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), which means a property that is rented to three or more tenants who aren’t part of the same family. In the event of a fire, the panel will identify which zone has been activated, enabling the user to locate any potential fire. They offer a cost-effective, early warning system.

Addressable systems are used in bigger or more complex buildings like office blocks, hotels or factories. These systems give each individual device (smoke detector, manual call point etc) an “address” meaning that, in the event of a fire, the panel will show which particular device has been activated, allowing the user to pin point the exact location. These systems can also be integrated with other systems, for example access control or building energy management systems.

Domestic systems combine smoke and heat detectors, mains wired with battery backup for continuous protection in the event of power loss. The individual detectors can be linked so that in the event of a fire, all devices sound together.

SECURITY

Whatever your premises, we can provide a cost effective, reliable security system which protects the most vulnerable and valuable areas of your property. From a simple domestic burglar alarm to a comprehensive security system integrating access control, CCTV and more, we will meet with you to understand your requirements and design a tailor-made solution.

We offer a whole range of security solutions, many with the option of remote monitoring on your phone or PC, including:

Intruder Alarms Systems comprising control equipment (panel & keypads), detection equipment (PIRs, door & window contacts) and sounders (exterior bell boxes & internal sounders).

CCTV Systems we specialise in commercial premises, designing and installing surveillance solutions for your business. We will discuss your requirements and design a system incorporating cameras, recording and viewing options to meet your needs.

Door Entry Intercom and Access Control Systems

From a simple door entry intercom system for a single dwelling, to an IP networked system, we will tailor make your package to meet the requirements of the building and those using it.

DATA

From a single data point in a home office to structured cabling systems, these days businesses rely on a high-quality data installation. If your system is out of date or ready to expand, contact us to discuss how we can help improve office efficiency.

Data cabling is constantly evolving to meet the demands of improving processor speeds and software applications.

Cat5e cable is capable of sending a gigabit over the network and is still suitable for certain situations, but it is being superseded by Cat6 which allows fewer repeat transmissions and less network down time.

Structured cabling allows you to carry data in any format, providing one solution for sending voice, data and multi-media applications around your building.

Once installed, it allows flexibility for moving desks, offices or whole departments.
